Unfinished Faith

We want to know our lives matter and that we’re living out God’s purpose for our lives. But, how do we stir our unfinished faith with a passion to change the world?

Many questions, too few answers.

I long to live a life of faith, passion, grace, and mercy to the world around me, desiring to be more life than hurt to my friends, family, and fellow-man.

Most days I feel rough and unfinished in my faith. I wonder if I make a difference in the pond of life.  Thoughts run through my mind like a creek raging at flood stage. My faith questions don’t fit nicely into the neat and tidy box of the church as I have known it to be.

This day I am grateful faith is not dependent on me to know all of the answers or be able to ask the right questions. I am able to sit in the presence of God and bring him my unkempt and messy faith…knowing he is more than enough. He gathers it all in, doesn’t think less of me or turns me away.

He is the finisher of my heart.

I Corinthians 13:12  Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.

What does faith that matters look like to you? We long to serve God in relevant, radical ways… but how?

May God bless and hold us close TODAY as we live out our messy and unfinished faith!
