Say Thank You Every Day; Secrets of Simplicity

One of the most powerful ways to enrich your own life is to say thank you to someone else- thanking them for all they do for you. None of us are an island unto ourselves. A fire will not stay lit for long with only one log and a man on a mission is less powerful if he attempts his journey alone.

While technology has made it easier and faster to stay in touch with friends and family and distance has become smaller when a loved one is only a phone call, text or email away it has also allowed us to stay at arm’s length from intimate conversations and relationships.

A handwritten note is more personal and powerful than a text. A simple line or two of gratitude is more likely to be appreciated and remembered than a voice mail.

Buy a box of stationary or blank note cards, stamps and keep one at home and another at work. Look for opportunities to thank someone for their good work, their impact in your life or those you love. You will be amazed how many little things people in your life do to help you out when you begin to be aware and look for opportunities to say thank you.

If you take just fifteen minutes a day to write a few notes and acknowledge others, it can create a snow ball effect for when you are appreciated and valued, you are more likely to do more for the one who has shown their thanks in a tangible way.

Make it a game, scavenger or treasure hunt and explore the possibility of what a grateful heart  can do.

Today’s Challenge-  Look around you. Pause and consider at least five people who you could thank for their impact on your life. Write a note, stamp it and send it. Today.

    1. Laura- thank you for stopping by! Gratitude unsaid, is much less powerful than words spoken and released!
      Blessings- Nancy
